Steve Baumann was hired in October of 2003 as Director of Logistics.  He is now our Vice President in charge of SC2’s Packaging and Warehousing Operations. 

Prior to coming to SC2, Steve accumulated a vast amount of experience, holding numerous managerial positions in manufacturing, warehousing, quality, and engineering.  Steve also earned a Bachelor degree in Science Manufacturing Engineering. 

During his time at SC2, Steve’s areas have had many accomplishments.  Steve lists these achievements, “Managerial positions were realigned to meet and exceed customer demands. There has been substantial growth in the organization especially in the packaging and warehousing divisions. Employment has increased with increasing sales; SC2 sells labor, as well as facility space, at the lowest cost to our customers. Overall, sales in these divisions have grown through process refinement and control. Safety programs, employee-training programs have been implemented which support our most important asset, our employee owners. Monitoring our processes, creating reporting for the management staff to control their costs were accomplished through improved technology support by corporate staff and their strategies. All of these successes were generated because of teamwork with all divisions and organizations within SC2.”

Steve firmly feels that SC2 sets itself apart from its competitors.  As he puts it, “SC2 and its subsidiaries work in two very competitive markets - Third Party Logistics and Fabrication. SC2 has developed strategies to be the leader in these markets by initiating quality objectives and producing work at the highest level possible, while controlling costs to the customer. SC2 also continually motivates employees by providing them with unique and generous benefit packages - most importantly, employee ownership. We realize that employees are our greatest asset and we empower them to perform their work in the most efficient manner, while controlling costs. Effective costs and high levels of quality set us apart from our competition.”

Steve is involved in several organizations throughout the community, including Canton Chamber of Commerce, Galesburg Regional Economic Development Association, and Canton Athletic Association.
